The Aquarian Teacher Training program is the KRI Level 1 Certification program in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. In Level 1 you will become an Instructor and gain a deep understanding and experience of the core of the science of Kundalini Yoga. You will develop the skills to instruct students in Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations as taught by Yogi Bhajan. You will practice teaching Kundalini Yoga in a practicum setting, participate in early morning Sadhanas (spiritual practice), and experience the powerful transformational energy of White Tantric Yoga. This is a 220 hour course, which includes 180 hours of classroom instruction in a well-defined curriculum which includes:

  • Teaching Kundalini Yoga Postures, Kriyas & Meditations

  • Mantras and Mudras

  • Role of a Kundalini Yoga Teacher

  • Yogic Philosophy & The Origin of Kundalini Yoga

  • Yogic & Western Anatomy

  • Humanology & 3HO Yogic Lifestyle

Keval Kaur Khalsa is a Kundalini Yoga Lead Teacher Trainer, North Carolina Regional Coordinator for Y.O.G.A. for Youth, and a Professor of the Practice of Dance & Theater Studies at Duke University.  Keval Kaur is the co-founder of the Y.O.G.A. for Youth Satellite in North Carolina.

S.S. Mahan Rishi Singh Khalsa, D.C. has been teaching Kundalini Yoga for the past 40+ years nationally and internationally in places such as Peru, Turkey, India, Canada, France, Mexico, Egypt, Belgium and more…He co-founded the The Khalsa Healing Arts and Yoga center which combines Chiropractic, Nutritional counseling, Massage Therapy, Acupuncture, Kundalini yoga and Meditation and healing teachings from around the world.  He leads regular journeys to India combining yoga, meditation and self-discovery.

Krishna Kaur, a dynamic, heart centered Yoga teacher, began studying with Yogi Bhajan in 1970 and has passionately taught the art and science of Kundalini Yoga and Self Awareness for 40 years. A spiritual activist, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience from her teaching in Africa, Mexico, and inner cities throughout the U.S. A master teacher trainer of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan, she also conducts workshops in Canada, Europe, and Latin America.
She is certified by the Kundalini Research Institute as a Lead Kundalini Yoga Teacher Trainer of both Level I and II.

Nirbhe Kaur Khalsa

S.S. Nirbhe Kaur Khalsa began practicing Kundalini Yoga and Meditation as taught by Yogi Bhajan in l972 in Michigan…and studied directly with Yogi Bhajan for 32 years.  In 1989 Nirbhe Kaur co-founded The Khalsa Healing Arts and Yoga Center in Yardley, Pa.  She leads Kundalini yoga trainings and courses internationally and has been practicing Kundalini yoga for over 44 years.  She was co-director of the House of Guru Ram Das in Princeton New Jersey for many years and is an ordained Sikh minister.

  • August is a retreat weekend!


Course Description

This program is based on the comprehensive science of Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan.

The Aquarian Teacher Training program is a journey of your development as a Kundalini Yoga Teacher.

There are three levels of certification:

KRI Level 1 - Instructor

KRI Level 2 - Practitioner

KRI Level 3 - Teacher

In Level 1 you become an Instructor. You will gain a deep understanding and experience the core science of Kundalini Yoga. You develop the skills to instruct students in Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations as taught by Yogi Bhajan.



The Aquarian Teacher Training team reserves the right to grant KRI Certification based solely on their discretion and evaluation of each participant's readiness to be a Kundalini Yoga teacher.

Evaluation is based on successfully meeting the Aquarian Teacher Training course requirements including, but not limited to:

  • Attendance at all classes

  • Satisfactory practicum assessment & passing grade on the written examination

  • Current professional membership with IKYTA

  • Completion of 20 Kundalini Yoga classes

  • Participation of at least 5 Aquarian Group Sadhanas (Group Sadhanas will be offered every training weekend

  • Completion of a 40 day Aquarian Sadhana practice (2.5 hours daily practice)

  • Creation of two yoga course curricula

  • Attendance at a White Tantric Yoga course within one year of the end of your course. Please know you will not receive your certificate until all requirements are completed.   • Proper representation of The Code of Ethics & Professional Standards of A Kundalini Yoga Teacher

  • Full payment of course fees

KRI Level 1 Teachers Training course fulfills the Yoga Alliance's 200 hour national standard for a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT). With your KRI certification, you can apply for and receive a Yoga Alliance accreditation.
